Aloe Vera Powder is composed of the freeze-dried inner “gel” of aloe leaf plants, which is then freeze dried and ground to a fine powder. Aloe Vera powder contains Vitamin A, B1, B2, B3, B6, B12, C and E, and folic acid. It also contains minerals, trace elements and nutrients. Compared to Aloe Vera liquid, the powder is 200x the strength. So if you were using 5% Aloe Vera liquid in a product, then you would only need 0.025% of the powder to get the same level of active ingredients.
Aloe Vera has anti-irritant, soothing and moisturising properties, and is commonly used in skincare creams, lotions and gels, as well as Haircare. Aloe Vera Gel is useful in aftersun products to soothe the effects of sunburn on the skin. Aloe Vera Gel can be made using the Aloe Vera Powder, plus a gelling agent such as carbomers (synthetic), gums (natural) or clays (natural).
